A number of them wake up prematurely after winter. Bumblebee queens need to replenish their energy after winter, and they can find it nowhere else but on nectar and pollen-rich plants. If they cannot find flowers, then these insects will die. Of one such \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmelaciplus.cz\/en\/common-hop\/#2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">purple echinacea, we already wrote<\/a>.However, we would like to introduce another representative of shrubs that are ready at this time to satisfy the hungry mouths of bumblebees, bees, and many other representatives of the disappearing insect kingdom.<\/p><p>We therefore recommend for gardens, and topping the insect charts is:<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"#1\"><strong>Willow osier <em>Goat Willow<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>The insect and gardener's stomach aches:<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"#2\"><strong>Kamchatka honeysuckle (<i>Honeyberry<\/i> Various. <i>Kamchatka<\/i>) - sometimes also under the trade name Kamchatka blueberry<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d69109a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d69109a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4><strong>Male goat willow (Salix caprea)<\/strong><\/h4><h5><strong>Meaning<\/strong><\/h5><ul><li><p>These are among the very first flowering plants to offer a hearty feast to awakening insects. The pollen on male willow plants is one of the first sources, containing a wealth of very digestible protein for insects.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Blooming<strong> male flowers<\/strong> offers nectar and pollen in all weather, whether it's cold, overcast, or windy. The shape of the catkin, the proximity of the flowers, allow for easy placement of a weakened bumblebee on them, and it can then easily feed itself gradually not only on sugars but also on the necessary protein. They can therefore be considered as such <strong>Insect and bumblebee rescue-point plants<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><li><p>The osier willow is an overlooked native shrub, destroyed in commercial forests, and elsewhere unnecessarily replaced by other shrubs. Yet it is an incredibly important shrub. It can grow in any soil, and its root system is capable of absorbing toxic heavy metals from the soil.<\/p><\/li><li>\u00a0On the willow, up to 213 species of insects are attached, whether through their food or developmental stages.
