A creature for whom we want and are able to do something.
A creature to whom we as humans have a lot to be grateful.
Although our association is mainly focused on bumblebees, we don't only help them.
We also help other species of insects, and not just them – we help the nature around us, and thereby, first and foremost, ourselves, you, our children, and yours.
What is the code of conduct of the Čmeláci PLUS z.s. association?
PLUS We want to provide you with a truly comprehensive overview of this fascinating representative of the insect kingdom, and that all-encompassing. Our activities therefore extend far beyond just the breeding of bumblebees.
PLUS = we want to move things forward, to seek and apply new possibilities that will create better conditions for our / your bumblebees. This includes, for example, new solutions, materials, procedures and guides not only in breeding, but also in caring for the landscape, garden, and in humanity's approach to nature.
PLUS We are not saying we are the only ones and the best. But we want to help independently and fairly point out what we don't think is right or what practice has already moved beyond. We want to provide our findings to you and to manufacturers of bumblebee boxes and accessories.
PLUS = We are not a hidden advertising space for bumblebee nest manufacturers and accessories or nest producers. We are also not the only ones trying to help bumblebees.
PLUS We want to build upon the experience of Mr. Miroslav Stuchl and his friends, who contributed to the know-how of bumblebee breeding with him, and further develop this foundation. We ourselves have many years of experience, so we know how necessary it is to rely on theory, while simultaneously accepting and evaluating the practical knowledge of others. The Czech Republic is not the only country trying to help bumblebees, so we also follow foreign organisations and study entomological research. We want to respond to the fact that the environment is changing, and what worked before may no longer apply. We see this ourselves when we compare our breeding from 2, 5, or more years ago with our current practices.
PLUS We don't want to be a group just for those who „want to have bumblebees at home”. We want to give you a complete picture of the issue and leave the decision to you. We would rather provide broader information and put someone off, than let those interested in bumblebees be disappointed or find themselves in a situation where their failed attempt becomes a breeding ground for parasites, harming the bumblebees and not just them, through this local ecological disaster. For those who have a nest in their garden that threatens them, we offer to rescue it and move it to one of the breeders.
PLUS = this is all of you, your suggestions, observations, experiences and interest in your ideas and suggestions are incredibly valuable - they help the bumblebees.
PLUS = active work on environmental protection, related education and projects.
PLUS = that's something extra – bumblebees, their keepers and supporters are our object of interest, but at the same time, bumblebees are a path for all of us towards interest in nature and its conservation.
