Our goals
„There are no small goals“, As the classic says.
You already know what our motto is. But let's look at our specific goals and plans to fulfil the motto of the Bumblebees PLUS.
- We endeavour here, and will continue to endeavour, to provide you with practical, interesting and useful information relating to the amazing creatures that bumblebees undoubtedly are.
- We will aim to provide you with support, whether it be in the instance of finding an individual bee, bumblebee nests in your vicinity, or supporting the breeding of bumblebees in hives.
- We will be helping with the organisation of rescue for endangered nests (Bumblebee Rapid Response Unit). We have already established cooperation with the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (HZS) to help us find nests in distress and guide you on the rescue.
- We will continue to improve the means, solutions, and procedures for bumblebee breeding in your gardens and public spaces, both on our own and with you.
- We also look forward to supporting all of you who want to create food sources for bumblebees in meadows, gardens, and small patches of soil between housing blocks.
- We will try to give you instructions on how to observe bumblebees, how to distinguish between their individual species and sexes. We also want to help you with concrete solutions.
- We are also trying to create a photography club and share good experiences among photographers.
- We want to share interesting information with breeders and experts.
- We will continue to look for more experienced „bumblebee lovers - bombusophiles“ among you who are willing to share their experiences and knowledge.
- We also want to organise a meeting for bombusophiles – bumblebee enthusiasts. One enthusiastic bumblebee fan has already come up with the name „bumblebee gathering“ and that perfectly captures the purpose of such a meeting.
- We want to further support educators who work with children and spark their interest in nature, for example, through bumblebees.
- We want to support and highlight municipalities and towns that care about ecology and the ecological care of urban greenery.
- We want to provide support and consultation to manufacturers of bumblebee nests so that their products are effective. We want to highlight both good and bad examples from manufacturers.
- We will test the products for bumblebees and publish the results.
- We will provide you with the know-how to identify bumblebee species and involve you in the search and mapping of rare bumblebee species.
- We will be pointing out wrongdoings, such as the sale of non-native bumblebee species that harm our nature.
- We want to entertain you, but also to provide practical information and interesting facts about the lives of bumblebees.
- We have managed to bring more people into the team and it’s clear they enjoy it. We want to continue expanding this team. We want to be an open community so that know-how about bumblebee conservation becomes public knowledge and can therefore operate as widely as possible, rather than in isolation.
- For the dissemination of information, we want to use social media websites as well as traditional media.
- We want to provide support in promoting bumblebees to schools and nature clubs, including supporting materials that we will provide to them free of charge.
As you can see, we have big plans…
We are a group of enthusiasts, we do everything in our free time on a voluntary basis and independently of manufacturers of bumblebee houses and bumblebee nest producers. We don't turn your „likes“ into money, but we are happy to receive them. It's feedback for us that you enjoy our work and that it's worth doing.
Thank you for all the support and feedback you give us.
Please share your experiences, insights, joys, and concerns about bumblebees with others here.
Send us your questions and topics that are of interest to you – we'll be happy to use them.
This will all help us do our joint work better and achieve our primary goal – promoting and supporting our bumblebee species in our beautiful landscape.
